With one full day of action already run, completing the Trials round in perfect 5ft waves, the Rip Curl Cup is back on High Alert for a Sunday morning start to the main event. 

Event directors and official event swell forecasters have been monitoring a deep pressure system coming from a very westerly direction of over 220 degrees out in the Indian Ocean, looking set to provide a fairy tale ending to the 5 week 2011 contest waiting period. 

All surfers and contest officials are on stand-by once again and will be ready to go if the minimum wave height and conditions are met.
