Santa Cruz, California surfer Zoltan Torkos made history March 4th with the first ever documented kickflip on a wave. The kickflip is a standard skateboarding trick where the board edge is kicked during a jump causing it to do a full flip beneath the surfer who stands back on the board when the deck side is up, lands the jump, and rides out of it. Zoltan won US$10,000 for landing the kickflip in a worldwide "Kickflip-Off" contest sponsored by Volcom. Zoltan is the only surfer to submit the required video to win since the contest was launched in 2007.
