Oakley Pro 11 on Standby - Oakley-Lines Airshow Announced

6 April 2011, Canggu-Bali:  While the Oakley Pro 11 has been on hold during the last two days due to strong the onshore winds, rain, and sub par wave conditions, Oakley and Lines magazine have come up with another addition to the Oakley Pro event agenda, the Oakley-Lines Invitational Airshow!
 
At stake are 1 million Indonesian rupiah and a pair of Oakley sunglasses for the winner, and Oakley sunglasses for the second and third place finishers.
 
Lines Editor Lorca Lueras will select the 8 invitees and be the sole judge during the 35 minute heat, which will most likely occur just after Round 3 of the Oakley Pro has been run to ensure that all the top seeds will be on site to participate.
 
The rules are few and simple:
 
Only aerials that are landed and ridden out in front of the whitewater are scored. Turns, barrels, etc score zero.
There is no priority, and snaking is allowed
No dropping in. A drop in will result in an interference penalty and thus the wave will not be scored.
The best air wins!

Contest organizers are calling for a 7:00 am standby tomorrow morning in hopes that the winds take a break and the swell starts building in order to allow the continuation of Round 2 and possibly getting into Round 3.
 
The forecast is looking very good for Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the wind diminishing and the swell picking up to an estimated 4-6 feet, which should be a perfect setup for the conclusion of the event.
