Billabong is stoked to announce that the highly anticipated Billabong Pro Junior 2011 will be hosted by Nusa Lembongan’s legendary Shipwreck break.
“We are so pumped to take this comp over to Lembongan”, Billabong Asia Brand Manager Peter Thew stated. “Indo’s junior surfing shows so much promise with strong surfers like Agus Frimanto and Putra Hermawan. We’d love to see them battle it out in their own homebreak.”
The Shipwreck itself boasts a reliable, powerful right-hander that breaks just off the coral reef which has formed over the old historical remains of a shipwreck on the reef, about 300m paddle from the beach.
Billabong’s rider and Lembongan local Agus Frimanto also has high hopes for the event. “This is my homebreak dude, I want to win real bad!” He laughs. “But also I think it’s really awesome that Billabong Pro Junior is held in Lembongan this year. This learning experience will amp up the local grommets for sure!”
Billabong Pro Junior 2011 will be held over 7-days waiting period from 25th-31st of July.
This event is proudly presented to you by Billabong, Nixon, VonZipper, Kustom, Playgrounds Resort, Island Explorers and Alam TV.
