Oakley Surf Tag Series Round 3 this Sunday July 17 at "Gado-Gado" Beach in Seminyak

Round 3 of the Oakley Tag Team Challenge will commence this Sunday July 17 at Seminyak’s “Gado-Gado” Beach, and will see the Medewi, Legian, Seminyak, Uluwatu, Canggu, and Kedungu teams competing for the three remaining spots in the Oakley Tag Team semifinals that will take place during the Oakley Pro Junior 2011 at Canggu from August 1-14. Nusa Lembongan has already advanced so holds the fourth spot.

The two top semifinal teams winners from the Oakley Pro Junior at Canggu will then meet in the grand final that will take place during the Oakley World Pro Junior event at Keramas from October 3-14, and the winning team will all go home with brand new Firewire surfboards in addition to prize packs from Oakley.

So come on out to the beach this Sunday and support your local club team as they battle it out this fun tag team event starting at 8:00 am.

In this first-in-Indonesia Oakley Surf Tag Series, surf clubs from various surf spots in Bali were invited to represent their home break, and their 5 person teams must consist of at least one surfer under 16 years of age, no more than one surfer seeded in the ISC’s Top 20, and no more than one non Indonesian citizen, in addition to the two others. There are a maximum of four teams surfing in each heat, and heat times are 50 minutes.

The main objective of the Oakley Tag Team Challenge is to assist in the development of surfing at a grass roots level and encourage the creation of a club culture as a way to nurture the establishment of a competitive pathway to higher levels.

Minggu 17 Juli 2011 di Pantai “Gado-Gado” Seminyak

Babak ke 3 dari event Oakley Tag Team Challenge akan digelar hari Minggu 17 Juli ini di pantai “Gado-Gado” Seminyak, kali ini akan mempertandingkan tim yang berhasil lolos minggu kemarin yaitu Medewi, Legian, Seminyak, Uluwatu, Canggu, dan Kedungu yang akan bertanding memperebutkan tiga tempat di semifinal Oakley Tag Team yang akan dihelat saat ajang Oakley Pro Junior 2011 digelar tanggal 1-14 Agustus di Canggu.

Dua tim yang lolos di semifinal Oakley Pro Junior di Canggu nantinya akan bertemu di grand final yang akan digelar saat perhelatan Oakley World Pro Junior di Keramas nanti tanggal 3-14 Oktober, dan tim pemenang akan membawa pulang surfboards Firewire terbaru disamping hadiah-hadiah menarik lainnya dari Oakley.

Jadi, langsung datang ke pantai hari Minggu ini dan dukung tim-tim lokal kalian saat mereka beradu aksi di event yang akan dimulai pukul 8 pagi.

Di ajang pertama-di-Indonesia Oakley Surf Tag Series ini, beberapa klub-klub surf dari berbagai macam surf spot di Bali diundang untuk merepresentasikan daerah mereka, dan dari 5 orang dalam 1 tim harus disertakan paling tidak 1 surfer berusia di bawah 16 tahun, tidak lebih dari 1 surfer yang terdaftar di ISC Top 20, dan tidak lebih dari 1 surfer yang bukan berasal dari Indonesia, di samping dua orang lainnya. Akan ada maksimal 4 tim yang surfing di setiap heat yang digelar, dan waktu untuk satu heat yaitu 50 menit.

Tujuan utama event ini digelar adalah untuk membantu dalam pengembangan olahraga surfing di level akar rumput dan sebagai sarana untuk mendorong terciptanya proses yang kompetitif di tingkat yang lebih tinggi.
