Quiksilver Malaysia Signs Bryan Ng as Surf Brand Ambassador for Malaysia

8 June 2011, Kuala Lumpur-Malaysia:  Quiksilver Malaysia is proud to announce their sponsorship of Bryan Ng as Surf Brand Ambassador for Malaysia.  For an initial contractual period of one year, Bryan will be working with Quiksilver Malaysia in various Corporate Social Responsibility projects including surf school and water safety programs as well as organizing surfing competitions and other Quiksilver events.  This is a historic event in that it is the first time Quiksilver Malaysia has offered a sponsorship to surfer.
 
“We are delighted to welcome Bryan to our team, as he has already done so much to help develop the sport of surfing in Malaysia, and now that we are celebrating our 16th year of business it’s a great birthday present to give ourselves; a Surf Ambassador that will represent our brand and help to develop new opportunities for the surfing community here in Malaysia,” said Catherine Chin, Senior VP and Head of Marketing and Business Development for Quiksilver Malaysia.
 
Bryan Ng started surfing in Malaysia in 1997, and rather than keep to himself or to his small circle of surfer friends he has always taken the initiative to further the development of the local surfing community through activities such as finding sponsorship opportunities for the younger surfers, conducting water safety programs and surfing lessons, and helping to organize local surfing competitions in addition to promoting Malaysian surfing locally and internationally.
 
Currently Bryan is also the president of the Terengganu and Selangor Surfing Associations and is working closely with Khairil Ibrahim to finalize the approval of the Malaysia Surfing Association by the Malaysian Government and the International Surfing Association as the official National Governing Body for surfing in Malaysia.
 
He has also been working closely with the Asian Surfing Championship and Quiksilver Malaysia to organize the Quiksilver Terengganu Best Event 2011 that will be held in Terengganu from the 9-11 December 2011.  “I’m really stoked for the opportunity to be the Brand Ambassador for Quiksilver here in Malaysia.  I’m very passionate about surfing and love getting others involved in it, and being a representative of Quiksilver provides me with so many opportunities to do that, so I’m looking forward to accomplishing a lot during this next year,” said Bryan.
