Quiksilver Releases Authentic Surf Batik Collection in Honor of Indonesias National Batik Day

24 September 2011, Jakarta-Indonesia: In honor of Indonesia’s National Batik Day on October 2nd, Quiksilver Indonesia is proud to announce the release of their new Quiksilver and Roxy Authentic Surf Batik collections for men, women, teens and kids, available now in all Quiksilver, Roxy, Sogo and Seibu stores throughout Indonesia.
 
Quiksilver Indonesia is the leader in creating and developing batik products in the surf industry in appreciation of Indonesia’s fascinating centuries-old cloth making tradition, adapting it to fashionable and comfortable modern day apparel as more and more people are proudly wearing batik in casual everyday life.
 
“This is our second year of producing and releasing our batik collections in Indonesia in celebration of National Batik Day, and we’ve seen the popularity of batik grow by leaps and bounds, not only in Indonesia but world wide.   Batik as a way of decorating fabric is both an art and a craft, and the finest batik in the world is produced here in Indonesia, so as a way to both celebrate and honor this ancient tradition this year we have a beautiful new Quiksilver and Roxy Authentic Surf Batik collection to offer to our customers,” said Quiksilver SEA CEO Paul Hutson.
 
The Quiksilver men’s Modern Batik collection has strong ties with traditional batik using motifs of leaves, flowers, birds, and the sun yet with modern shapes and colors, whereas the Batik Pesisir collection features Chinese motifs such as clouds, phoenix, and various flora and fauna images; both collections are available in men’s and youth batik shirts, polo shirts, t-shirts, boxer shorts, fleeces and sandals.  
 
The Roxy Eklektik and Le Kawoeng collections for ladies and teens offer unique interpretations on traditional themes, the Eklektik having Polynesian inspired animal and plant motifs whereas the Le Kawoeng get its influence from the fruit of the Kawung palm tree, which has deep spiritual significance.  Both collections are available in skirts, tops, shirts, long pants, dresses, and tees.
 
Prices range from Rp 125,000 to Rp 575,000.
 
The Authentic Surf Batik collections are in stores now, and there will special batik exhibitions from September 26 through October 2nd at three selected Quiksilver locations:
