19 June, Kuta-Bali:  In less than two days the Reef Bali Pro is scheduled to begin at Padma Beach in Legian, just north of Kuta Beach.  However, with the size of the swell that is being predicted the contest organizers are now preparing the backup location of Halfways at Kuta Beach for Monday morning   Contest Director Heath “Nutty” Walker, Reef International’s Team Manager, will make an official call regarding the Monday start on Sunday evening.

Tipi Jabrik, CEO of the Coca-Cola ISC Tour, explained “Due to the wave size and swell direction being forecasted for next week, we are working with the Reef team to prepare the backup location of Halfways, as Padma usually has trouble holding the size of waves we are looking at.  Either location will result in a great event, and we would certainly rather be looking at too much swell as opposed to not having enough. Halfways tends to hold more size and is a frequent contest venue, so we’re confident using it as the backup venue.”

The Reef Bali Pro will be held from the 21st to the 26th of June, and will include ISC Open, Masters, and Women’s Division competitions as well as daily expression sessions by Reef International Team Riders Jay “Bottle” Thompson, Nick Rosza, Ross Williams, Mike Losness, Paul Fisher, and Adam Bennetts.

Non-surfing highlights will be the Cancer to Capricorn Movie Premiere at the Hard Rock Center Stage on Friday night June 25 with the Miss Reef Bikini Contest semifinals at the Hard Rock Café following.

The event will wrap up on Saturday afternoon June 26th at Kuta Beach with a final expression session by Reef’s team of pro surfers, the Miss Reef finals, the awards presentation, and concludes with explosive live music by the Rockstars and Bali’s own Superman is Dead.
